How It Works
A short guide to what happens when you compare, what the numbers mean, and where our involvement ends.
1. Tell us about your pet
You enter your pet’s species, breed, age, sex, whether they are spayed or neutered, and your ZIP code. Insurers use these details to set prices, so they are the same details we use to estimate them.
2. Choose your coverage and priorities
Pick the type of coverage you want to compare and any priorities, such as a lower deductible or dental coverage. Priorities affect the order of results and the “why this plan may fit” notes. They never hide plans from the comparison.
3. Compare plans side by side
Your results show estimated monthly price, annual deductible, reimbursement percentage, annual limit, waiting periods, coverage highlights and important exclusions. You can adjust the deductible, reimbursement and annual limit to see how the estimate changes, and compare 2–4 plans in a table.
4. Continue with the provider you choose
When you are ready, you can continue to the provider’s site to confirm your quote or enroll. The insurance provider, not FurrChoice, confirms the final price, issues the policy and decides claims.
Estimates versus quotes
An estimate is a price based on the details you enter, shown to help you compare. A quote is confirmed by the insurance provider. Prices are estimates until confirmed by the provider, and we label them that way.
